Event #26: $15,000 Guaranteed NLH– ($10+1 buy-in)

Over 1500 players registered for this event as they all tried to outwit one another and make it to the final table. Players were guaranteed a payday of $216 if they made it to the final 9, while the top 4 finishers would all make at least $1000. In the end it came down to aeyyTOK and writinggambler133 with the later taking down the final prize. Here’s how the final hand played out:

Both players saw the flop for nothing more than the blinds and when the 8c,Ks,8h fell they both decided to check again. The turn card was a Js making a potential flush draw out there and after writinggambler133 checked, aeyyTOK decided it was time to bet with his Ah,Kh. He was immediately met with a raise and didn’t hesitate to go all in. Writinggambler133 was holding 9d,8d and had no problem calling with his trips. The river was a 6c and writinggambler133 was crowned the champ.

Event #27: $40,000 Guaranteed NLH Unlimited Rebuys with 1 add-on – ($10+1 buy-in)

This tournament saw a little fewer than 1000 entrants (959) as players got to test their hand at yet another rebuy tournament in the Poker Maximus series. The guaranteed pot never grew by the time the rebuy and add-on period was over but scottsands didn’t mind too much as he outlasted them all and took home the $7600 first prize.

The final hand in this tournament came down to two all-ins preflop as short stack Cscalzo22 took a stand with his Qd,Th. Scottsands had no issue in calling the big bet with his Kd,Js and the race was on. A flop of 4c,Jd,3c, took away some outs for Cscalzo22 but he wasn’t officially done until the 9h and 5h fell on the turn and river giving scottsands the big 1st place prize.

1 scottsands $7600.00; 2 Cscalzo22 $4820.00; 3 CalvinCandie $3540.00; 4 LifeGrind $2600.00; 5 hhammer2006 $2060.00; 6 bamaslama $1600.00; 7 atxpoker22 $1240.00; 8 poons4 $960.00; 9 BarneyRIP $760.00

Event #28: $10,000 Guranateed Pot Limit Omaha HiLo – ($30+3 buy-in)

This was the first PL Omaha HiLo event of the series and this is a game for only those that play this format quite a bit. With split pots being the norm, you really have to go for the kill shot at times by trying to win the high and the low, or simply hoping there isn’t a low hand to qualify. TJGold proved that this is the style of poker for him as he outlasted 376 other players to take home the top prize.

The final hand was one of those where the winner took down both the high and the low as TJGold’s 4c,3c,4s,Qd was met with some very good help on the flop. A board of Ad,6h,Qh, to start gave him a pair of Queens with four to the low (A,2,3,4) and when the 2s fell on the turn that low hand was made. The 8d on the river didn’t do anything to help udonwannit’s hand of (9c,8h,5h,4h) and TJGold was named the victor.
