Event #29: $40,000 Guaranteed NLH unlimited rebuys and add-on – ($55+5 buy-in)

This was the steepest of all the rebuy tournaments in the Series and because of that the field wasn’t exactly huge. 211 players ended up playing in this event and even with all the rebuys, there was still some overlay to the $40,000 guaranteed pot. With only the top 27 finishers getting paid it was get to get in that group and move on up to the final table, something iksnats did as they came out the winner.

The final hand saw a preflop min-raise come from iksnats with a 2c,7c, and it was quickly called by PeanutnSam and his 5c,Kd. The flop hit both players when it came down (5d,7d,7s) putting iksnats way out in front with his trips. He bet again and had to be a bit surprised to see PeanutnSam shove all in over the top. Not necessarily a bad play with a pair of fives though, but this time it was. The turn and river came down 3h,9c, ensuring iksnats got the victory.

Final Table Payouts and Prize Winners:

1 iksnats $9600.00; 2 PeanutnSam $7200.00; 3 Rebeca90 $5000.00; 4 mickeylynch33 $3360.00; 5 flushmstr289 $2520.00; 6 Twall1 $1800.00; 7 onepoor5fig $1400.00; 8 ExitMusic $1120.00; 9 fonduebythefire $920.00

Event #30: $10,000 Guaranteed Shorthanded NLH Turbo

Shorthanded tournaments tend to attract a lot of players and Event #30 was no different. By the time the dust was settled in this one it came down to players Herm1oneGranger and N0tFk1nEasy. IT was a great final hand and when all was said and done it was N0tFk1nEasy who came away with the first place prize of $3,151.69.

The final hand was a battle of two big starting hands as the action got hot and heavy right away. Herm1Granger initially min-raised with his Ac,8d thinking it was the best hand. N0tFk1nEasy was sitting there with pocket Jacks though and instantly re-raised. Figuring his ace-high was best at the time, Herm1Granger shoved all in and was obviously met with a call. The board gave him little help as it came down 6h,9d,6d,9h,3h, allowing the Jacks to hold up.  play online poker for FREE or for REAL MONEY at Carbon

Event #31: $25,000 Guranateed NLH– ($100+9 buy-in)

349 entrants boosted this prize pool an just about an extra $10 grand as the players battled on the virtual felt for their share of the $34,900 pot. It was one of the quicker tournaments of the Poker Maximus Series as a winner was crowned in a little over 7 hours. Congrats to loibedoblack for taking down the first prize.

In the final hand in this event, the standard preflop min-raise was put in by T4XX3D and it was called by his opponent loibedoblack. After the flop came down 5s,6c,3d, T4XX3D made a continuation bet and was met with an all-in shove. Being down on chips he decided to call it with his Ad,Jc, only to find out once the cards were turned over that he was up against top two pair in loibedoblack’s 6h,5c. A Kc on the turn sealed the deal and loibedoblack was crowned the champion.

Final table results:

1 loibedoblack $7817.60; 2 T4XX3D $5339.70; 3 PLAYNWITHNADA $3891.35; 4 Axiomat1c $2792.00; 5 koshkonong691 $2094.00; 6 ptly55 $1396.00; 7 rock1ready $942.30; 8 EyeTiger20 $942.30; 9 ailost916 $942.30  play online poker for FREE or for REAL MONEY at Carbon
