Famed Swedish online poker player Viktor “Isildur1” Blom has ended his representation of the world’s largest online poker room, PokerStars, after nearly a two-year relationship.

Blom began playing under the guise of his handle “Isildur1” and, while many believed the mysterious player was indeed Blom, Stars officially unveiled his true identity during the 2011 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

Eric Hollreiser, PokerStars' head of corporate communications, told PokerNews.com that Blom and the company mutually agreed not to renew the Swede's expired sponsorship agreement.

"In his short time as a poker player, Viktor has played against the biggest names in poker at the highest stakes in the toughest games," said Hollreiser. "It’s hard to recall a player who has kept the poker world so riveted at such an early stage of his career. We’ll be watching with great interest and we wish him nothing but success."

Commenting on his departure, Blom said: "I’ve enjoyed my time as a Team Pro and I wish everyone at PokerStars the best. Now I just want to concentrate on playing poker."

While Blom’s massive winnings are widely publicized, including a $200k take this week during a grueling 11 hour online poker marathon, his losses are even more astonishing.  According to HighStakesDB.com, Blom is one of the biggest cash game losers at PokerStars with a $1.56 million deficit for 2012 after a $1.5m winning year in 2011.
