Absolute Poker today announced that online poker player SOUTHCJAY7 has netted himself top prize of $15,000 in the CEREUS Poker Network's  $220,000 March Rake Race that ran from March 1st -31st.

SOUTHCJAY7 is celebrating an uncanny winning streak, as the Connecticut resident has now topped the CEREUS Rake Race Leaderboard three times running - first in October 2008, next in December 2008, and again last month. Each time, the 21 year-old has picked up $15,000 for his efforts at the Absolute Poker felt, boosting his bankroll by a total of $45,000 in the last six months.

Just three days in after the launch of the March Rake Race, and SOUTHCJAY7 had already pulled ahead of the pack, having amassed an astounding 5000 points more than his nearest rival. So, it was no real surprise come March 31st to find that the Sit & Go specialist had proven his true grit once more, finishing 3,431 points in front of second place finisher IAMMAVERICK.

The final results in the March Rake Race are:

1st                  SOUTHCJAY7                                    88,187 points                                    Prize money won = $15,000

2nd                   IAMMAVERICK                  84,756 points                                    Prize money won = $14,000

3rd                  ZO6FANATIC                                    82,632 points                                    Prize money won = $13,000

To qualify for Absolute Poker's Race Cards contest, online poker players were required to earn Status Points at Absolute Poker by playing in any real-money raked ring game, Sit & Go's, and Multi-Table Tournaments between March 1st and 31st.

Every Friday in March, players were informed of their ranking and potential prize, so they could keep a handle on where they stood in the chase, and how close they were to finishing in the money come the end of the month. Rake Race players could also check the leaderboard personally to see what prize they were playing for at any given time.

Players in the top 30 were guaranteed to win $1,000 and that number increased based on leaderboard rank.

The top 1,000 Status Point earners on the leaderboard have been invited to compete in a $20,000 freeroll, scheduled for Easter Sunday, April 12th at 14:00ET.
