Poker Pro Thor Hansen has Terminal Cancer

Norwegian poker pro Thor Harald Hansen has terminal cancer, it was revealed on Wednesday.  The 64-year-old player is one of Norway’s best known players, often referred to as “The Godfather of Poker”.

Doctors have told Hansen he has no more than two years to live following the cancer’s spread to the lungs, liver and lymph nodes. 

Hansen has two World Series of Poker bracelets and has won just over $2.6 million in live tournaments to date with 46 cashouts. 

Hansen currently resides in El Segundo, California.

Thor is one of the best guys I know. He's been like a father to me on the tour. Always looked out for me and telling me who I can trust and not. He's a fighter though and I'm 100% sure he wont let this get to him. He will be as happy as always and cheerful!
