The PokerStars.net Million Dollar Challenge was to be televised at 3 pm EST on Fox and those not wishing to watch any of the NFL games Sunday afternoon could certainly watch.  But none of that really matters.  The fact that the show was highly publicized heading into the 1 pm EST games was even more important perhaps.

It is one of the most popular poker shows and kicks off its second season Sunday afternoon. Seven weeks of broadcasting are planned.

“Just getting the PokerStars name out there, that’s what matters,” said Aaron Goldstein of Gambling911.com.

Contestants will vie to beat celebrity opponents in round one.  Those who do will win an all-expenses paid trip to the Bahamas and will advance to round two.

This year’s celebrity defenders include Dancing with the Stars’ Brooke Burke, NFL Hall of Famers John Elway and Barry Sanders, and former NBA great Gary Payton.

Also appearing will be Sara Underwood.  She’s the celebrity player for Victory Poker, now part of the Cake Poker Network.
