Raul Mestre Wins International Federation of Poker World Championship and $250K: Beats Victoria Coren
Spaniard Raul Mestre was declared the winner of the International Federation of Poker World Championship and takes home $250,000. In the end, he went head to head with big name female poker pro Victoria Coren of the United Kingdom.
The World Championship was the final event of the first ever IFP World Championships that was held in London, UK. The German team won the first event of the Championships, the Nations Cup.
Raul Mestre has won $505,730 in live events to date with 5 cashes. He has enjoyed massive success in just the last couple of months, having won the EPT Barcelona No Limit Hold’em Championship back in August.
Coren has won just shy of $1.2 million in live tournaments to date with her biggest cashout being at the European Poker Championships PokerStars EPT/Season 3 EPT No Limit Hold’em Championship in 2006. In fact, most of her winnings occurred her. She took home over $937,000 in that event.
