A convicted ponzi scammer, Bradley Ruderman, testified in court on Thursday that he witnessed Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez (A-Rod) take part in one of his high stakes poker games, something Rodriguez has flatly denied in the past.

The games in question were connected to the bilking of investors.  “Spiderman” star was also implicated as one of the individuals who took part in the high stake poker games.  Investors would go on to sue Maguire, however, A-Rod was never named in any complaint.

Ruderman was ultimately convicted of embezzling $25 million of his investment clients’ cash as a means of paying off gambling debts incurred at the celebrity high stakes poker games that took part between the years 2006 and 2009.

“I will confirm that Ruderman testified and confirmed for the first time under oath that Alex Rodriguez played in one of the games,” Hollywood attorney Ronald Richards told the Celebuzz website.

Rodriguez was questioned by Major League Baseball officials about the allegations when they first surfaced last year and insisted he did not take part in such games despite at least one participant saying otherwise.  A-Rod dismissed the allegations once again Thursday night.
