Romain Paon Leads €10,600 EPT Grand Final Main Going Into Day 2
Romain Paon leads the €10,600 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final Main Event after Day 1b. The Frenchman collected 161,900 chips to put himself in a great position for Day 2 tomorrow. Paon's best result to date is cashing for €22,000, but now he seems ripe for success on the bigger stage. Eric Sfez, EPT8 Deauville €10k High Roller winner (and this season's finalist), follows his compatriot in second place. Sfez in certainly the better-known player, winning more than $900k in live tournaments so far.
There were 337 players competing on Day 1b and 186 of them got through to join Day 1a's 113 survivors. Several Team PokerStars Pros will come back: Vanessa Selbst (66,200), Johnny Lodden (65,400), Ivan Demidov (64,900), Liv Boeree (30,100), Jake Cody (11,700) and Team PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira De Melo (10,800).
Late registration remains open until noon, when the Main Event restarts. We can expect at least Dzmitry Urbanovich to jump in as he qualified online but was busy with the Super High Rollers during the Main Event starting flights.
Monaco is the traditional home for the EPT Grand Final with Madrid being the only exception in Season 7. This is the tenth time the tour has culminated here and the Main Event has a guaranteed first prize of €1,000,000.
