The greats of poker from three continents went up against one another down under at the 2013 Caesars Cup.  Ultimately, Sam Trickett’s Team Europe came up victorious.

The event took place at the World Series of Poker Asia Pacific in Melbourne, Australia.

Trickett’s team consisted of fellow Europeans Marvin Rettenmaier, Phil Gruissem, Dominik Nitsche, Sam Holden.

Team America captain Phil Ivey assembled a cast of big name players including the likes of Antonio Esfandiari, Daniel Negreanu, Greg Merson and Phil Hellmuth.

Joe Hachem acted as captain for Team Australia.

Europe has now won two Caesars Cups, the first coming in 2009 at WSOP Europe.

Also at the WSOP Asia Pacific, Philipp Gruissem won the $50k High Roller event to beat out Joseph Cheong for a cool AUD$$825,000.
