Tatjana Pasalic Talks Durrrr Challenge: Tom Dwan Says Delay Likely
A lot of hype has surrounded the so-called Durrrr Challenge, a high stakes series of online poker games originated by Tom Durrrr Dwan. Our friend Tatjana Pasalic was talking about it with Dwan at this week’s PartyPoker World Open 6 where the young New Jersey native busted out pretty early. Because of the Open, not much action has taken place these last couple of days with the challenge.
Dwan explains: “I laid 3/1 on a side bet of $1.5 million to $500K as long as we played 50,000 hands of 200 to 400 or higher no limit.”
Dwan explained in the first challenge he went up against Patrik Antonius and has thus far taken around $2 million.
“Because it is a high variance game, he (Patrik) has a chance to come back.”
Dwan said, however, that he remains a pretty solid favorite at this point.
He just started the second challenge with Jungleman Daniel Cates. Dwan is down $700K in that one.
He disclosed there will not be any play over the next three days but expects the challenge with Cates to resume some time next week. However, because the World Series of Europe is set to begin and the two are traveling extensively to various poker tournaments around the globe, the Durrrr Challenge may have to hold off a few more weeks.
Dwan also said of the World Series of Poker Europe: “I’m planning on winning that.”
