A relatively unknown actor has been cast to play “Spiderman” in the popular Marvel film franchise. He replaces Toby Maguire, a poker player with a penchant for being a “jerk at the tables”.
That’s how famed poker hostess Molly Blom referred to Maguire in her memoirs “Molly’s Game” posted late last year.
He “was the worst tipper, the best player, and the absolute worst loser,” according to Bloom, who organized high stakes celebrity poker games Maguire played in.
Speaking of the gambling bug (pun intended), Holland had been a 6/5 favorite to be cast in the next “Spiderman” film.
And while we are on the subject of super heroes, another gambling high roller, Ben Affleck, is set to take on the role of Batman in that other popular franchise.
