On Saturday January 22nd at 15:00 ET, the UBOC6 No Limit Hold ‘em $1000+50 buy-in Heads Up event will be headlined by Prahlad Friedman, the newest member of Team UB.

Miami, FL (Marketwire) Wednesday, January 19, 2011 –UB.com’s UBOC6 has been a stellar online championship tournament series already, and this weekend’s events are set to keep the action firing on all cylinders, beginning with Saturday’s $128K GTD NLH Heads Up tourney at 15:00 ET hosted by new addition to Team UB Prahlad Friedman.

UBOC6 Event #13, the ultimate Heads Up challenge, is a $1000+50 buy-in that’s expected to bring some top poker guns to the UB tables eager to prove their skills in a series of match-ups against individual opponents. Cash game superstar Prahlad steps up to the plate to host his first ever UBOC tournament, so expect his presence to attract an accomplished ilk of online poker player to the felt.

“Heads Up is a sick game.  It requires a special set of skills that are truly unique to all other forms of poker.  You can't wait for solid hands, you have to get in there and gamble and bluff a lot more.  You have to focus throughout the series of matches and always be a step ahead of your opponents,” said Team UB’s Prahlad Friedman. “I am honored to host my very first UB tourney. Winning a Heads Up Championship is very tough, and I'm looking forward to the challenge."

Prahlad’s strong Heads Up play has garnered him past online successes against Tom “DURRRR” Dwan, and more recently it earned him his biggest prize to date, when he took down the 2009 WPT Legends of Poker and a $1,034,000 pay day, by besting Kevin Schaffel, who was a member of the WSOP November Nine the same year.

When the cards are in the virtual air on Saturday afternoon, players will vie for a share of the $128K GTD prize pool. There’s no minimum or maximum number of players required to register for this tourney to take place, but all players must register on time – NO Late registrations will be allowed. Check the “EVENTS” tab in the UB tournament lobby to enter.
