UB.com At The WSOPE
The leading online poker site,UB.com, is ready to make a right royal splash at the 2010 World Series of Poker Europe* (“WSOPE*”) in London, September 21st through 28th.
With UB’s super cool new look making waves for all the right reasons at the 2010 WSOP*, Team UB was the hottest crew of poker players to hang with at the RIO this year. London town should brace itself for a similar killer invasion when Team UB pros swap Sin City for Ol’ Blighty this week. England may have Queen Elizabeth, but UB has the King of the cards, Phil Hellmuth, who’ll be leading the charge across the pond and itching to avenge his unexpected Day 1 departure at this year’s WSOP* Main Event in Las Vegas.
“The WSOPE is always a great series, not just because it’s another opportunity for me to shatter my own bracelet record, but because of all the European players who’ll be playing,” said UB’s legendary 11-time WSOP* bracelet holder, Phil Hellmuth. “This is a great time to introduce our new brand to players who may not have made it out to Vegas and I’m stoked that UB is going to have a huge presence there.”
For the first time in the four-year history of the WSOPE* event, UB is set to have an imposing presence at the tables, and away from them. Members of Team UB will be styled up in the site’s fresh, hip logo wear, and flying the UB flag in London Town in all its glory. Expect Hellmuth, Eric “Basebaldy” Baldwin, Brandon Cantu, Adam “Roothlus” Levy, and Tiffany Michelle to rock the Casino at the Empire in Leicester Square, geared up and keen to prove themselves at the felt.
UB’s VIP contingent will be joining Phil and other members of Team UB at ‘the Empire’ for various WSOPE* tournaments. Well known online identities SPIN31, YELLOWDAWG, TRADEBYDAY, IWON2, AIRKID3, GUIGUI_88, S U F F E R, 7TEMPEHEAT7, XBLINK, and ELIAS HARRIS will join Phil Hellmuth at London’s notorious ‘gentlemen’s club’ Stringfellows tokick start their U.K. adventure at the novelty Baller Strip Poker Championship on September 21st, from 7pm.
TRADEBYDAY, IMMAREALOG, and ST4CKEM each won an $18K prize package in UB’s WSOPE* Super Satellite on September 12th, and will be privy to aspects of UB’s VIP hospitality in London. Highlights of their stay will include access to the VIP Welcome Dinner at ‘Circus’, invitation to the Premier League’s West Ham United v Tottenham Hotspurs match up, visits to London’s Westend Theatre district, London’s famous Ministry of Sound Club, and the London Eye.
Aside from Team UB pros and VIPs on deck at ‘the Empire’, UB has set up camp at local London Pub, Yates’s wine bar, situated conveniently inside Leicester Square, with UB staff on hand daily between 4-10pm, September 21st through 28th. Grab a pint, enjoy happy hour, pick up some merchandise, and talk some poker with UB’s crew on the ground.
Yates’s wine baris ‘UB headquarters’ for the duration of the WSOPE* Main Event, so be sure to drop by, and if you can only make it there once, diarize September 24th; this is the day Phil Hellmuth will hold court at Yates’s between 3-4pm for a scheduled book signing, followed by aspecial ‘Phil and friends’ happy hour 4-6pm.
Also on the chalkboard of WSOPE* festivities is the innovative and entertaining Free UB London Poker Tour (September 22nd-26th), which takes in some of the city’s most memorable tourist spots, while offering insight into London’s rich poker history. The designated UB double-decker bus will depart Leicester Square on the hour, every hour between 11am and 7pm, with popular London landmarks on the itinerary, including Oxford Street, Marble Arch, and Piccadilly Circus.
