Unabomber to Break Record for 78 Straight Hours of Poker Play?
Poker pro Phil Laak, whose affectionately known as "The Unabomber", is looking to set a new world record for most hours played consecutively at a poker table.
Taking place at the luxurious Bellagio Poker Room in Las Vegas, starting on June 2, Laak will be looking to break the world record of 78 straight hours of playing poker which was set by Paul Zimbler in the fall of 2009, PR reps for the pro announced late Wednesday.
"I have played many enduro sessions of poker, but never anything of this magnitude," stated Laak. "I know this will test my limits but I love a good challenge and am excited to be trying to beat this record in Vegas' top poker room."
Laak is perhaps best known for wearing a hooded sweatshirt while participating in most live tournaments, hood on, hence, the "Unabomber" reference. He may be even better known for dating "Bride of Chucky" star and fellow poker pro Jennifer Tilly.
