William Hill is the latest online poker room to enter the powerful Italian market with its newest domain name WillianHill.it.

William Hillis the United Kingdom’s largest bookmaker and has been in business since 1932.
Italy opened up its market to online poker play from companies outside the nation last year.  PokerStars.it is the world’s fifth largest online poker venture.

“We are really excited about our Italian venture,” said Henry Birch, Chief Executive Officer for William Hill Online, which is the joint venture the London-based operator launched in partnership with gaming software developer Playtech Limited in October of 2008.

“The combination of a high passion for sports and gaming makes Italy one of the most important markets in our international expansion plans.

“We’ve spent a lot of time developing the site and ensuring it conforms to the AAMS regulatory requirements. We’re delighted with the outcome of the site and we believe it will be a big hit with Italian players.”
