Indictments handed down against three of the world’s largest online poker rooms in the US on April 15 has nearly crippled the industry.  A demonstration of how popular poker is:  Participation during the first day of the World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock in Florida. 

Keep in mind that online poker helps generate participation in these events and, as such, helps to boost local economies, generating income and – in some cases – jobs.   Florida embracing high stakes poker tournaments will most certainly have a positive financial impact on the Sunshine State. 

406 players taking to action in the $10,000 Championship Event.  At the end of the day, 290 of them remained.

Randy Dorfman led the pack.

“Got lucky in a couple of spots,” said Dorfman. “There were a couple real amateurs at the table, that were, to be honest, pretty bad.”
