Just as Zynga’s trading came back from the dead last Friday, now we have Zynga zombies rising out of the New York City subway system and terrorizing what are usually tough New Yawkers.

The Zombie sightings were first observed on the streets of San Francisco yesterday.

It’s all part of a promotion introducing the social game maker’s newest iPhone-compatible entry, "Zombie Swipeout".

"The object of the game is to slash, slice, bludgeon, explode, and freeze as many zombies as possible without harming Joey, the lone human survivor from ZombieSmash," according to Zynga Mobile Germany studio director Matthias Hoechsmann.

We’re not in Farmville any more Ladies and Gentemen.

Zynga operates the world’s largest online poker room through Facebook.  The company does not accept real cash play at this time, however.
