Iran National Anthem Played at World Series of Poker

Bahador Ahmadi, a Canadian born Iranian, won $278,104 and a gold bracelet this past weekend at the 2009 World Series of Poker.

Ahmadi requested that the Iranian National Anthem be played in order to pay his respect to all those looking for reform in that troubled nation.  Most of those in the room stood up to show their respect Pokerati reports that he told Nolan Dalla after his win:

Kentucky Governor Wants Expanded Casino Gambling at Tracks

Officials from Churchill, Keeneland, Turfway Park and three smaller Kentucky tracks joined forces Wednesday in an effort to get state lawmakers support for approving expanded gambling. 

"For a $4 billion industry and 100,000 jobs on the line, the Kentucky legislature has got to step up and find a way to make this work for us and give us a chance to be competitive," Ellis Park owner Ron Geary said.

Obama Refuses to Meet With Nevada Governor

President Barack Obama has refused to meet with Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons and other key business leaders in the state according to news reports.

Governor Gibbons requested the meeting in a letter to President Obama so the President could address statements he made that were critical to Nevada and have caused economic damage to convention business and tourism business, according to Action News 13 out of Las Vegas.
