GOP Convention Betting Odds: Will Trump Mention Bernie Sanders?
Our good friends at Gambling911.com-endorsed BetOnline are offering GOP Convention betting odds on whether presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump mentions Bernie Sanders.
For his part, Trump has been trying to woo over supporters of the Vermont Senator, who officially dropped out of the Democratic race last week. Many of Sanders supporters have vowed not to support the presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
But CNBC reported on Monday night, Trump’s running mate choice, Indiana Governor Mike Pence, may have just destroyed any chance of Sanders supporters migrating over to Trump.
(Pence) offers nothing to the lost-at-sea Sanders voter whose frustration with the status quo makes them open to Trump, CNBC suggests.
"I was gonna vote for Trump if he picked a more moderate VP," Sanders supporter Shahid wrote on Facebook following the announcement of the Trump-Pence ticket on Saturday. "But now I'm all in for [Jill] Stein," the Green Party candidate for president.
A recent Pew Research poll found just 9 percent of Sanders backers would vote for Trump; he did slightly better in a separate poll from Yik Yak, a location-based social media network, drawing 13 percent.
