Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) remains the favorite to be next Speaker of the House but he is far from a guarantee despite having odds of -335.

And the knives are out as fellow far right GOP caucus members are beginning to turn on one of their own who backs McCarthy.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has voiced support for the minority speaker, with many believing she is being promised cushy committee surroundings.

Last week, Green got into a heated Twitter spat with fellow firebrand Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO).

“I’ve been aligned with Marjorie and accused of believing a lot of the things that she believes in,” Boebert said Monday at a Turning Point USA conference—which kicked off the feud. “I don’t believe in this, just like I don’t believe in Russian space lasers, Jewish space lasers, and all of this.”

Boebert's reference was to comments Greene has made in the past mostly related to allegations of voter fraud.

Greene, believed to currently be vacationing in Costa Rica for the holidays, responded on Twitter by accusing Boebert of engaging in “high school drama” and generating “media sound bites.”

Another Republican and one-time Greene ally, Ali Alexander, referred to her fellow Congresswoman as a “trailer park hoodrat".

Greene's Costa Rica trip is also raising eyebrows.

Not only did she miss a Congressional vote on ominbus spending, some have lashed out at her for leaving Georgia at a time when severe cold has cut power to portions of the state.

"Marjorie Taylor Greene vacations in Costa Rica, while hundreds of thousands of Georgians are out of power. Cruz vacationed in Cancun, while hundreds froze to death. Trump vacationed on his golf courses, while Covid ravaged our nation. When s*** hits the fan, Republicans vacation!" political commentator Lindy Li tweeted.

To be fair, Greene's trip to Costa Rica appears preplanned and was taking place well ahead of the severe winter cold blast whereas Senator Ted Cruz dodged out of his home state of Texas to Cancun in order to escape a massive power outage during a particularly brutal cold spell.
