No Nikki Haley Will Not Be Trump's VP Pick: You Can't Even Bet on Her
- JD Vance and Doug Burgum remain favorites to be selected as Donald Trump's VP pick as soon as this coming week.
- Former two-time elected South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley was initially not invited to speak at the GOP convention but multiple sources now confirm she will be.
Donald Trump is expected to announce his vice presidential running mate in the next few days while appearing at the Republican convention in Milwaukee.
Speculation focusing on Vivek Ramaswamy, Ron DeSantis, and Tim Scott.
The recent incident involving Trump has heightened the importance of his VP choice, with some suggesting he needs 'assassination insurance.'
One time GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley's acceptance to speak at the Republican National Convention has fueled rumors of her potential selection.
But oddsmakers don't see this happening. As of late Sunday afternoon, Haley is not even listed among the VP options at BetOnline.
The favorites remain Ohio Senator JD Vance at +125 and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum at +200. The next shortest odds belong to Florida Senator Marco Rubio at +450.
Haley has been invited to and accepted a speaking role at the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee. This decision comes after the former South Carolina Governor and United Nations ambassador under Trump initially released her 97 delegates and encouraged them to support Trump, despite not being invited to the convention at that time. The news of Haley's invitation and acceptance has been confirmed by multiple sources, including Haley's team and various news outlets.
During the primary, Haley accused Trump of causing chaos and disregarding the importance of U.S. alliances abroad. She did not endorse him when she dropped out in early March, instead waiting more than two months before she said she planned to vote for him.
Trump, in turn, repeatedly mocked her with the nickname “Birdbrain,” though he curtailed his criticism after securing enough delegates in March to become the presumptive Republican nominee.
Haley regularly received around a quarter of the vote in a number of state primaries even after she bowed out.
