The 2024 US. general elections are behind us but what still lies ahead is a Donald Trump presidency marred by indictments both at the federal and state level.

With that being said there is a growing chorus of folks touting the idea that current US President Joe Biden can fix all of this by pardoning Trump before leaving office.

Mark Antonio Wright of the National Review was among the first to suggest such an option.

The first thing Joe Biden should do this morning is invite Donald Trump to the traditional visit in the Oval Office between the outgoing and incoming president. Biden should extend all the traditional and lawful assistance to Trump that is appropriate in anticipation of his forming a new administration.

Wright wrote this on Wednesday.  As of Friday, such a meeting had yet to materialize, but there is certainly plenty of time to contemplate such an action.

President Bill Clinton issued 140 pardons as well as several commutations on his last day of office, January 20, 2001, some of those controversial.

Wright then proposes the following:

Biden should then move to use his constitutional authority to pardon Donald Trump of all pending federal charges, and relieve special counsel Jack Smith of his duties. He should then ask New York governor Kathy Hochul to use her authority to pardon Trump for the crimes he was convicted of in New York.

With all of this in mind, Gambling911.com anticipates BetOnline to begin offering a Biden Trump pardon special prop.

Current props are focused on cabinet picks.

Upcoming Sentencing

Erika Orden of Politico reports:

Donald Trump’s victory means the nation’s first convicted-criminal-turned-president-elect is headed for the White House instead of a prison cell.

That’s because Trump’s Nov. 26 sentencing hearing in the hush money case almost certainly won’t happen.

“I think any reasonable judge wouldn’t sentence the president-elect,” said Jill Konviser, a retired New York trial judge.

Imposing a sentence now — even a non-prison sentence like home confinement, probation or community service — would interfere with the soon-to-be president’s duties, legal experts say.

No Intention of Pardoning Son Hunter

Hunter Biden, the son of Joe Biden, is scheduled to be sentenced next month on the gun charges as well as federal tax-related charges in a separate case.

When asked Thursday whether the president has any intention of pardoning his son, Press Secretary Jean-Pierre responded, "We've been asked that question multiple times. Our answer stands, which is no."

Jean-Pierre said she didn't have comment on pardons the president intends to make at the end of his term.

"I know pardons is going to be a big part of the questions that I get here over the next several weeks and a couple of months that we have," she said. "I don't have anything to share or any thought process on pardons. Once we have something to share, we certainly will share with that."

BetOnline had been offering odds on a Hunter Biden pardon for the past several months now.
