The map below is based on geotagged Twitter (X) data from Tuesday night to now, tracking tweets about potential 2028 POTUS candidates in each state. For example, tracking hashtags like #Vance2028, #Obama2028, #Newsom2028, #Shapiro2028, etc. Over 475,000 tweets were tracked.

BetOnline, meanwhile, released odds on who will win the 2028 presidential election.

As you can see from the map, JD Vance dominates, which isn't surprising considering he is the current VP Elect, and is only 40 years old. This makes him one of the obvious choices to potentially follow Donald Trump.

On the other side of the aisle, the Democrat leaning states look like they want Michelle Obama to finally run, or California Governor Gavin Newsom. However, four years is a long time and there doesn't seem to be any clear front runner to lead the Democratic Party, so a new face could definitely emerge.

The state breakdown is as follows:

Vance - 26 states (Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming)

Obama - 11 states (Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Virginia, Washington)

Newsom - 8 states (California, Colorado, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Vermont)

Shapiro - 2 states (Delaware, Pennsylvania)

Whitmer - 1 state (Michigan)

DeSantis - 1 state (Florida)

Gabbard - 1 state (Alaska)
