Blazing Sevens was the winner of the Grade 1 $500,000 Champagne S in the slop and we suddenly have rain in the forecast for Saturday's Preakness Stakes race.  As of 6 pm ET, it appeared that rain band would hold off until just after the race.

A few showers were forecast to roll in just prior to the 7:01 pm post time.  Rain was expected to be more steady during that 7 pm hour however.  Light rain was anticipated to linger throughout the evening hours.  This is all about timing.

Blazing Sevens odds were still set at +750 for a payout potential of $750 on every $100 bet.

Blazing Sevens is certainly capable of winning and these odds were tremendous value.

“He had a good trip,” said jockey Flavian Prat in reference to his Champagne win. “He broke well and he got himself into the race. I was traveling really well on the backside and decided to drop myself in and try to save some ground a bit. He was traveling really well all the way around and when I tipped him out and he changed leads, he really changed gears as well."
