Prediction markets Kalshi and Crypto.com are set to implement a delay on order execution.  For Crypto.com trading, the delay will amount to approximately 3 seconds for some customers placing wagers on sports, according to Bloomberg News.

Kalshi has reportedly submitted documentation to regulators proposing its own order delays. The proposal, currently under a ten-business-day review by the CFTC, does not specify which customers would be subject to these delays. It could take effect as early as this week if the regulator approves it. Kalshi declined to comment.

"This will effectively kill courtsiding at sports games and other live events," one sports gambler wrong on X.

Another individual on X commented they were "surprised it took this long".

Courtsiding is massive across organized "sharp groups" they find books they can get edge on via live line movement and exploit until the book bans.

Groups send people to stadiums across the country and use custom apps to forward stats back to bet placers to front run data feeds distributed by @SportsRadar

Stadiums actively hire spotters to try and identify courtsiders and eject them, this is particularly common in tennis where every point can move the line a decent bit.

Its actually such an issue in tennis that they require broadcasters to add additional latency to the online streams to prevent exploitation. I know this only because I had the WTA as a customer in a previous venture.
