Preston Banks’s federal complaint alleges wrongful termination under Nevada law and retaliation under the federal Anti-Money Laundering Act.
A major focus of his allegations is something referred to internally as the “Argentina Scheme.” Banks alleges there was suspicious activity involving a group of international gamblers and that he raised concerns that the transactions could involve money laundering.
Banks isn't merely alleging that Resorts World had questionable customers. His case is essentially that he was doing the compliance job he was hired to do, raised red flags about customers and transactions, and suffered retaliation for doing so.
Resorts World has already been through a major Nevada Gaming Control Board enforcement case concerning its handling of illegal bookmakers. Nevada regulators' 2024 complaint centered primarily on casino activity involving Mathew Bowyer and Damien LeForbes. In March 2025, Resorts World reached a settlement with regulators over the matter.
Resorts World has yet to officially comment on this matter.
