Giants vs. Twins

(May 24, 2023) -  Wednesday's consensus play was on the Twins -155.  We are going to take a slightly different route in looking at both starting pitchers and their ability to go deep into the game at least 7 innings.

This one goes off at 1 pm ET with two teams sitting at the .500 mark but San Francisco is really killing it of late with seven wins in eight.  Can they win three straight against the Twins Wednesday?

Anthony DeSclafani (3-3, 3.09 ERA) starts for San Francisco.  He hasn't had a win in his last three and pitched well in a no-decision against the Marlins on Friday night, racking up six strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings of two-run baseball.

Joe Ryan is solid this season thus far with his 6-1 record and 2.25 ERA.  He is also coming off a no-decision and has only one win in four of his last starts.

The last two of this series this week have stayed UNDER and this one should as well....UNDER 7.5 here.

Marlins vs. Giants

(May 19, 2023) - Marlins are 3-9 in the last 12 meetings in San Francisco.

Miami has won seven of their last ten games and own a record a few games above the .500 mark while San Francisco is playing .500 baseball at the moment.

Anthony DeSclafani (3-3, 3.06 ERA) suffered a toe injury against the Diamondbacks on Saturday night, giving up three runs on five hits in his five-plus innings of work.  He also suffered his second straight loss.

Miami Marlins career statistics vs. Anthony DeSclafani are .339 (20 for 59) with two homers.  Jacob Stallings is .583 against him (7 for 12 hits) but is averaging a meager .123 this season.

Jorge Soler is the only other primary threat we see but he's not exactly gangbusters this season either.

Giants are looking like the play tonight.

Consensus Play Comes Through Again With Giants Win Over Houston

(May 3, 2023) - Tuesday night, the consensus cappers were on the New York Yankees and had a nice win.  Wednesday night was a scary pick on the San Francisco Giants in Houston and they were a hefty dog at +160.  This one came through nicely as San Francisco won 4-2.

Joey Bart doubled in a run and scored another, Wilmer Flores clubbed a home run.

Bart's double, which came with two outs and Michael Conforto on first, increased the advantage to 3-0 in the seventh.

Alex Bregman's homer was the only extra-base hit for Houston.

San Francisco is down four games from the .500 mark as they depart Texas.

In other games, Diego Garcia, who currently tops the leaderboard ScoresandStats and is up $2677 on the month, backed the Baltimore Orioles -147 in KC.  The Royals shut out Baltimore 6-0.

Tigers Just What the Doctor Ordered?

(April 13, 2023) - The Giants were off to a slow start to the 2023 season, going just 5-7 ahead of this series versus Detroit.  The Tigers, however, have won a mere two games.  This offers an opportunity for San Francisco to potentially climb over that elusive .500 mark by series end.

These clubs don't have a whole lot of recent history between them.

San Francisco were slated to start Sean Manaea in Game 1 of the series on Friday.  He recorded eight strikeouts and yielded one run over six innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Royals.  Manaea is yet to have a win this season.  His ERA is 4.50.

The Giants pay out $6000 on a $100 bet should they go on to win the World Series.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
