Seattle Mariners Now Have the Best Bullpen
The Seattle Mariners overtook the San Francisco Giants brief reign for best bullpen Thursday. You will certainly want to consider betting the Mariners when they put their best starting pitchers on the mound. The team, however, remains a .500 product both with their current record and they are winning half their games.
Seattle scored ten runs while permitting just two by the New York Yankees in Thursday night's game. Meanwhile, the Giants managed to be shut out 10-0 by the San Diego Padres in an ugly loss that sent their ERA spiraling.
The Red Sox, leading with the best bullpen to start the week, maintained the No. 2 position.
Seattle owned a 3.03 ERA, Boston a 3.25 and Philadelphia was a decimal point behind at 3.26.
San Francisco now found itself with a 3.54 ERA, same as the Cubs and Padres.
The Angels and Braves came in with a 3.45 ERA.
The Rockies and Pirates held the worst ERAs in Major League Baseball.
Logan Gilbert (4-4, 4.31 ERA) is slated to start for Seattle on Friday.
He pitched decently in a no-decision against the White Sox on Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits over his 5 1/3 innings of work. He gave up seven runs (six earned) on eight hits in three-plus innings of work prior to that against the Angels.
Gilbert is due for a win here. He has nominal work versus the Baltimore Orioles.
Kyle Gibson is 8-4 with a 3.94 ERA. J.P.Crawford is 6 of 12 against him.
Gibson suffered a loss his last outing against the Cubs.
If you're gonna bet anything with this game, consider the Under. The problem is, the trend has been more towards the Over of late. We would stay on the sidelines with this one.
