OAKLAND PARK, Fla (Gambling911.com) - A power outage has resulted in Monday night's SMU vs. Florida State game being postponed. The game was expected to start in the next hour but anxious bettors were left wondering "what if this game can't be played.
What Happens to My Bet if Game is Suspended or Postponed?
If the game is postponed before it begins and is not played within 48 hours of the original start time, all bets are voided, and your stake is refunded at most online sportsbooks.
If the game starts but is suspended and not completed within 48 hours, bets are voided unless the outcome of a specific market has already been determined at most online sportsbooks.
Impacts on Types of Bets
- Single Bets: These are voided if the game isn't completed within the 48-hour window, and your stake is returned.
- Parlay Bets: If one leg of your parlay is voided due to a postponed game, that leg is removed, and the parlay continues with the remaining selections. The odds and potential payout are adjusted accordingly.
- Player Props: These require all listed players to be active. If a player doesn't participate, the bet is voided.
Totals

What is Happening?
A countdown clock inside Doak Campbell Stadium stopped at 7:30 p.m., and the stadium lights went out.
As the sun was setting, it was a surreal scene as players and coaches waited for the Atlantic Coast Conference opener to commence.
Florida State (1-0) and SMU (0-0) had run out of their respective tunnels and onto their sidelines just moments before the game officially entered a delay. The Seminoles and Mustangs remained on their sidelines before eventually being sent back to their locker rooms.
The outage can be traced to a transformer on the west side of the stadium, according to ESPN's Andrea Adelson. An update was expected at 8:20 p.m. ET.
Once power is restored, teams will receive a 10-minute warmup period.
The delay was ongoing through 8:40 pm EDT.
