In the wake of Graham Porter being sacked by West Ham over the weekend, there is plenty more of that to go around.
Sportsbooks across the globe were offering odds on the next manager to be let go with Ruben Amorim of Manchester United a runaway favorite.
On Saturday, Porter's dismissal resulted in 16148 impressions to the Gambling911.com website, and counting.
In a statement, the club announced: “Results and performances over the course of the second half of last season and the start of the 2025/26 season have not matched expectations, and the Board of Directors believe that a change is necessary to help improve the team’s position in the Premier League as soon as possible.”
The club also confirmed the departure of members of Potter’s backroom staff:
“The Club can confirm that Assistant Coach Bruno Saltor, First Team Coaches Billy Reid and Narcis Pelach, Lead Goalkeeper Coach Casper Ankergren, and Goalkeeper Coach Linus Kandolin have also left with immediate effect.”
Ruben Amorim Sack Watch
The beleaguered Portuguese head coach suffered another defeat, this time a 3–1 against Brentford on Saturday. That was the 17th loss for Amorim in 33 matches.
The likes of Oliver Glasner and Andoni Iraola could get the nod to replace Amorim, though Gareth Southgate has been rumoured to be a target for the club for some time.
From SportsMole:
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that while Southgate would be a candidate for United if Amorim departed, the club are not actively talking to him, though his close relationship with Ratcliffe could work in his favour if he was available when contacted.
