Oakland went 6-1 against Minnesota last season with no real advantage where the total is concerned as four of the seven games went over 7.5 though there is a definite advantage with a total of 6.5 as five of seven meetings went over that number.

The pitching matchup for this game has Oakland’s Drew Pomeranz vs. Minnesota’s Ricky Nolasco.

Pomeranz has not pitched beyond 5 innings in any of his last four starts and has yielded 6 or more hits in each of those.  Keep in mind, the A’s relievers have also given up plenty of runs this season.

Nolasco allowed 6 hits his first start and 8 hits his last start against the White Sox, failing to get beyond the 5th inning.  He still managed to pick up his first win of the season.

Fortunately for Nolasco, Ben Zobrist is on the DL, having gone 5-for-10 against him.  He won’t have that kind of luck with Brett Lawrie, who is an excellent daily fantasy pick.  Lawrie is hot right now and has gone 3-for-5 against Nolasco with two RBIs so one would expect to get some production out of him this day.
