Baylor is getting some serious interest right now, and while it may be Las Vegas that is setting them up they are #6 in the BCS. They have made a journey to the top that was definitely not a great team just a few years ago, and this Thursday, they will fight to get a national contendership against the number 10 Oklahoma Sooners.

Baylor is a good team, and they aren’t going to be an easy victory for the Sooners. Baylor’s offense is what is getting most of the attention right now, and it’s interesting to see what they are doing on the ground and in the air. Their averages are quite high, and they are scoring 50+ points per game, which should make Oklahoma a tad bit nervous. The Wildcats did end up punishing Baylor for a great deal of their game, but didn’t topple them, which is quite interesting. If Oklahoma is going to have a shot, they are going to need to ground and pound their way past 300 plus yards on the ground. If they can barrel through the starting defensive line, Baylor may end up seeing their greatness get toppled at home.
The one thing that you are going to have to remember is that Oklahoma doesn’t just drop out of these big games. These big time games are normal for the Sooners and they are going to be fighting to make sure that no one forgets why they are usually on top of the heaps in the NCAA football pantheon. The Last time Baylor was able to knock down a top ranked team was 1985, and that alone is a stat that should have people going underdog here.
The Match Up:
There are a couple of things that you will want to watch out for, and it’s mainly Baylor’s consistency on the ball. They absolutely need to stay steady, or else they are going to lose out. Oklahoma has an upside, their defense hits hard and cause turnovers. If they force turnovers on an inexperienced Baylor offense, we could see the Sooners get the big win, even though the lines are shifting away from them. Look at the Sooners to get the win here, even if Baylor’s got some upside. It will be a high scoring affair. The Sooners are going to get the underdog win at +14.
