The Nationals are a -145 favorite at home Friday with San Francisco at +135.  There is a total of 8.5 on this game.

San Francisco is 4-13 in their last 17 overall and 1-9 in their last 10 road games.

Washington has won six of their last ten overall and are 13-6 in their last 19 home games vs. a right-handed starter.

Gio Gonzalez is coming off a tough-luck loss to the Giants his last outing, having given up just two runs.  He has gone into the 6th inning for five of his last six appearances, giving up three or fewer runs in five of his last six starts. Gonzalez (6-9) is winless in his last two starts.

He has given up 27 hits off of 109 at bats versus the current Giants batters.

The Giants Jeff Samardzija (9-7) has not won in three appearances and has given up 14 runs in his last sixteen innings of pitching.  He allowed four runs in six innings against Washington his last start.   Samardzija was initially slated to face Philadelphia on Thursday.

We will take Washington at -145 on Friday.

Avoid the Nats on Saturday with San Francisco’s likely starter having permitted just 23 hits on 105 at bats, though with six home runs.

Washington should be a heavy favorite too with Stephen Strasburg starting.
