Leake snapped a three-game losing streak with a dominant outing on July 10, striking out a season-high 10 batters in seven innings against Milwaukee. He is 1-2 against San Diego.
Adam Wainwright, pitching Thursday against the Padres, has allowed just 16 hits off of 73 at bats (2 homers) versus San Diego’s current lineup.
He has allowed just one run in his last 23 pitched.
