Bet the Royals-Twins Series August 12-14
You can bet the Royals-Twins series for this weekend with Friday’s game featuring odds of -117 Minnesota, +112 KC and a total of 8.5.
Kansas City has won eight of the last ten games in this series and 21-8 in the last 29 meetings in Minnesota. The UNDER is 11-3-2 in the last 16 meetings.
FRIDAY’S PITCHING MATCHUP: Royals RH Yordano Ventura (7-9, 4.64 ERA) vs. Twins RH Kyle Gibson (4-6, 4.86)
Ventura went 0-5 in a seven-start stretch before limiting Toronto to one run and five hits over 6 2/3 innings in a victory on Sunday. He is 2-3 with a 3.86 ERA in six career starts against the Twins but has permitted just 20 hits off of 92 at bats versus the current Twins lineup with a single home run.
He has not allowed more than three runs in six of his last starts and is capable of going deep.
Gibson defeated Tampa Bay in his last outing as he gave up two runs and six hits in five innings. He is 5-3 with a 2.55 ERA in eight career starts against the Royals. Gibson has allowed a mere 32 hits on 140 at bats versus the current Royals batters with one home run.
Edinson Volquez will start Sunday for KC. He’s allowed just 23 hits off of 98 Twins current batters.
Volquez is going through a cold streak, as he has now allowed at least nine hits and four runs in each of his past three starts.
TAKE THE UNDER 8.5 HERE
The Twins offer a perfect remedy for Volquez but Hector Santiago, starting for Minnesota, will also be hungry for a win for his new team after getting beaten up badly his last two starts. Santiago, overall, has been pitching better than Volquez of late.
TAKE THE UNDER HERE IF 8 OR HIGHER
