Cardinals a Different Team with Palmer
The Arizona Cardinals looked really good last week with a healthy Carson Palmer. He threw three TD passes and became the first Cardinals starter since Jim Hart to win seven straight starts. "I thought he played outstanding," coach Bruce Arians said. "He came out on fire." Palmer is 14-2 in his last 16 starts. Palmer threw for 307 yards in the opening win. The only bad news for Arizona was that running back Andre Ellington left with a knee injury. That should not come as a huge surprise though as Ellington is always hurt.
Bears Still Stuck with Cutler
The Chicago Bears were not terrible last week but they are still stuck with Jay Cutler at quarterback which means they are usually going to lose. The Bears lost 31-23 at home to Green Bay last week and Cutler was 18 of 36 for 225 yards and threw a key interception late in the game that ended their chances. "Green Bay is a pretty good football team," head coach John Fox said. "We were going to have to be near flawless to beat them and we didn't quite reach that. I think there was a lot of positive things that we'll be able to build on as a football team moving forward as we get ready for Arizona." The Bears got 141 rushing yards from Matt Forte and 78 yards receiving from Alshon Jeffery.
Series Notes
These teams have not met since 2012 when it was Chicago winning 28-13 on the road at Arizona. They have not played in Chicago since the 2009 season when the Cardinals won 41-21. The teams have split their last four games in Chicago with two of the last three going under.
