This week in NFL action, the Houston Texans will take on the San Francisco 49ers in a game that is a must win for both teams. Even with some good upsides on either team’s roster, there are some holes in their armor, enough to make anyone doubt whether or not this one will be an easy win or a hard fought battle.

Last week, the Houston Texans put a hurting on the Seattle Seahawks. The game was all but sewn up, and then it just fell apart. The Seattle team came back and won after the Houston squad was looking amazing. That being said, look for the San Francisco team to exploit the weaknesses that were found on the tape last week and come out strong against the Texans. Houston has to do a lot better than they did last week, especially if they get off to an early lead.
Matt Schaub needs protection, and if he gets it, he may be the secret to the Houston offense here. He has been blamed for last week’s loss, and this week he will get blamed again, and that’s just how things are when you’re in the NFL. The 49ers have a good enough defensive output that it could very well be a long day for the Houston team. Even if the offensive line does well, they will still get hit hard against a San Francisco team that is still feeling the hurt from their loss at the hands of Seattle.
For the Houston team to really do well, they have to limit their turnovers, because the San Francisco defense loves to run it back fast. You’ll find that the 49ers brash style of play will once again light up here, especially if they are able to force fumbles, and hit receivers quite hard.
The Match Up:
There is no doubt about it, this game is going to hit really hard on all cylinders. Look for the Houston team to have a rough time maintaining a lead like they did last week, but also look for the Niners to be careful with their quarterback. It seems that when he gets hit hard, he is not as confident as they’d like him to be. It’s that subtle thing that will be the wildcard here, so watch for an upset here with Houston getting +7.
