Yankees-Blue Jays  - PITCHING MATCHUP: Yankees LH CC Sabathia (9-4, 3.81 ERA) vs. Blue Jays LH J.A. Happ (4-8, 3.92)

Sabathia allowed four runs for the second straight outing after surrendering two homers in six innings of a 4-3 loss to Detroit last Tuesday and was clobbered the last time he faced Toronto so expect some regrouping here by an otherwise solid pitcher.

Happ followed his victory over the Yankees on July 4 with an 0-3 mark in four outings before snapping that winless stretch on Wednesday.  Happ has recorded seven quality starts in his last 10 outings, but only has a 4-4 mark to show for it.

Four of the last five games in this series have resulted in 9 or fewer runs including just five runs scored when these two pitchers went up against one another on July 4.

The Yankees have scored three or fewer runs in six of their last eight games overall although Toronto has been able to score vigorously of late.

The Blue Jays are 7-1 in Happ’s last 8 starts vs. Yankees while the Yankees are 3-10 in the last 13 meetings in Toronto.

This one can still go OVER so we will have to pass on the Yankees-Blue Jays game Tuesday despite some good stats to feed off of.

Astros-White Sox - PITCHING MATCHUP: Astros LH Dallas Keuchel (9-1, 2.15 ERA) vs. White Sox LH Derek Holland (5-11, 5.27)

Let’s see, Keuchel surrendered a homer and allowed three runs total in his second straight start on Wednesday for his first loss while Holland has gone  0-5 in his last nine outings since recording his last win on June 13.

The UNDER is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Chicago and 9-2 in the last 11 meetings.

Eight of the last ten games in this series have gone UNDER the current number of 9.5.

This total though is two runs above the average total in this series so exercise caution here. 

Cardinals-Royals - PITCHING MATCHUP: Cardinals RH Michael Wacha (8-4, 3.66 ERA) vs. Royals LH Jason Vargas (13-5, 3.10)

Wacha lasted only four innings after he was pulled for a pinch hitter in his last start at Milwaukee, giving up one run on five hits while not factoring in the decision. He was 5-1 over his previous six starts, permitting two runs or fewer in each of the victories.

Vargas was 12-3 with a 2.22 ERA after winning his seventh consecutive start on June 30 but has been up and down ever since including a loss in his last start. 

Eight of the last ten in this series have gone UNDER the current number of 9.  The total was starting to trend downward to 8.5 at some books early afternoon.

The UNDER is 11-4 in Vargas' last 15 home starts.

The UNDER is 16-6-4 in the Cardinals last 26 overall.

The Cardinals are 8-20 in their last 28 interleague games vs. a left-handed starter though they are 7-2 against left-handers overall.
