The team struggling the most right now is Colorado, losing 8 straight. While the Dodgers RH Zack Greinke (8-2, 2.50 ERA) has pitched well vs. the Rockies, the opposing pitcher, Rockies RH Jhoulys Chacin (0-4, 5.51), is really struggling of late and this has resulted in a price tag of -135 on Greinke.
That’s a little high but we’ll take it considering the circumstances. So our free pick will be on the Dodgers -135 but don’t go any higher than this.
Adrian Gonzalez (6-for-13) and Andre Ethier (10-for-26, 10 walks) fare well against Chacin. Not a good thing when both the Rockies and Chacin are struggling to win games.
Here’s a quick preview of some other games on tap today. No free picks on any of these, however.
One of the hottest clubs right now is the Toronto Blue Jays, who have won six straight games. They’ll start the day off against a St. Louis team that has only gone 2-8 over their last 10 games. Mark Buehrle is 10-1, 2.10 and, as such, the line on this game is too pricey at -149 for Toronto.
The Milwaukee Brewers come into Pittsburgh as a +105 underdog. This would normally be something to jump on after Milwaukee had dominated the Pirates in recent games. The Brewers, however, got destroyed by Pittsburgh Friday evening.
