The Miami Dolphins season win total betting odds for 2014 had this team a slight favorite to win UNDER 7.5 regular season games at BetDSI.com.
USA Today considers Miami’s schedule the 12th toughest in the NFL whereby they will every team from the AFC West and NFC North. Let’s remember that three AFC West teams made it into the playoffs including Denver, Kansas City and San Diego. Three of the four NFC North teams are favored to win nine or more regular season games in 2014.
BetDSI.com offered its early prediction on the Dolphins chances in 2014 and perhaps 2015:
2014 Miami Dolphins Offense: The Miami Dolphins will rely heavily on quarterback Ryan Tannehill in 2014. The quarterback made good strides last season as he threw for 24 touchdowns with 17 interceptions a year after throwing 12 TDs and 13 interceptions. The team added Knowshon Moreno to the backfield but he is likely to start the season on the injured list. The team needs Lamar Miller to be more consistent to give the team a serious running threat. The team also needs a big play receiver because Mike Wallace was a major bust last year after getting a huge contract after coming over from Pittsburgh.
2014 Miami Dolphins Defense: The Miami Dolphins defense wasn’t as bad as their overall numbers as they bent a lot but didn’t break that often. They were 21st in total defense but 8th in points allowed. The team added Cortland Finnegan and Louis Delmas to upgrade the secondary. The team has a good front led by Olivier Vernon and Cameron Wake. The linebackers are not great but with a good pass rush they don’t have to be. The key will be getting improved play out of the secondary.
