The Yankees RH Brandon McCarthy (7-11, 4.31 ERA) record is a bit deceiving as he suffered his first loss in six starts despite holding Cleveland to just two runs.  He is 4-2 with a 2.93 ERA in 10 appearances (nine starts) against Tampa Bay.

The Rays RH Alex Cobb (7-6, 3.41) is 4-1 in seven career starts with a 2.01 ERA against the Yankees and has pitched especially well of late, allowing two or fewer runs in his last six starts.  We will be biting our nails each time Mark Teixeira steps to the plate, however, as he is 2 for 6 vs. Cobb with one homer.

The Yankees have scored 3 or fewer runs in five of their last six games overall and six of their last eight.   The UNDER is 13-3-1 in Yankees last 17 games following an off day.

Tampa has scored 4 or more in six of their last ten games, all on the road but most of those were against two of the league’s worst teams: Texas and the Chicago Cubs.
