Monday Night Football is going to be an electric event in week 3’s match up. The Denver Broncos are on a roll, and they definitely are glad they signed Peyton Manning. No analyst would say that Tim Tebow would’ve given the team such a boost if he’d still been quarterback, even though he’s still an interesting talking point here and there. Manning has erased the slate, and started all over, and he’s doing amazing things because of it. You’ll find a hard match up against the Raiders, if only for a moment.
The Oakland Raiders have been struggling to get into the groove, and even though they’ve tried so many different things, from coaching changes to quarterbacks, to just about anything that they could think of to bring in more hope for their squad, they still seem to lack that fire that they had when they were on top in decades past. The Broncos are doing great, they are punishing teams in a whole new way, and it’s all because of their veteran quarterback that is having one heck of a starting point.
The Raiders would need to really figure out a way to stop the passing game, and by the time they do that, the running game is going to be hard to sew up. For all intents and purposes, this one is going to be a blow out. There’s no one in their right mind that will pick the Raiders here, as they aren’t going to be able to match the offense of the Broncos. The Oakland squad is coming off of a win, but they aren’t going to be in a friendly stadium, they are going to face the Broncos on their home turf. That’s always a bad sign, especially when the altitude sets in.
The Match Up:
The offensive game is strong with Oakland, and the run game has done well against Denver in the past. Look for Darren McFadden and Terrelle Pryor to make some major moves and attack the Broncos sole weaknesses. The offense may be able to put up some points, but they are not going to run rough shot here, they are going to have a tough time against the Peyton Manning show. Much like Brett Favre was just insanely good in his latter seasons with the Vikings, we’re getting another showing of a veteran quarterback shining like a champion. We’re going with the favorite, Broncos at -15, and while we love an underdog, the Raiders won’t be able to contend with the onslaught that is awaiting them in Denver.
