Another NFL match up that should be interesting to watch, as the Atlanta Falcons will face off against the New England Patriots. The two teams are scheduled to fight it out this Sunday and it isn’t going to be 100% fair. The Atlanta Falcons have some injuries to contend with, and that could pose to be the main different. Meanwhile the Patriots are getting some of their team healthy and possibly returning. One big name that could be the wildcard here is none other than Rob Gronkowski, and just preparing for that possibility has to become an interesting threat for the Falcons to deal with this week.

Current line: New England +2 / Over & Under at 49 ½

Time:  Sunday, September 29, 8:30 pm (EST) NBC

New England is undefeated, sure, but they haven’t been blowing out teams or anything. They are good, we won’t take away that, but are they really that much better? The last few weeks have been proving grounds for many teams, and the Patriots have upside that makes them definitely worth looking at to win, but if the Falcons can take the situations that they have on offense and defense and flip them a bit, we may see an incredible game of wits.

Matt Ryan is going to have to pass short and stop throwing into double coverage. Meanwhile, the New England defense is going to have to play on mismatches if they are going to win this one. This is especially true in the red zone, as Ryan is quite predictable at times, so making sure that he’s isolated and the throws aren’t going to go to where they think can help them navigate this one with ease.

The Match Up:

The Atlanta Falcons handled the challenge at Miami but still lost. The reason being is because they didn’t play to their strengths, and it could be because of the injuries that are hurting the team right now. It’s with that in mind that New England is going to come out swinging and play their standard game. The predictable nature of the Patriots may end up becoming a detriment, which is worth noting. The lines are giving the Falcons an edge, one that is hard to contend with, especially since they have so much talent. Hurt or not, they can actually  pull this one out, but we’ve seen Tom Brady on the underdog side before and well, when it counts, he puts on a show.  The edge is going to New England +2.

The Edge:

New England +2
