Packers Seahawks Betting Line: Super Bowl Champs 18-2 in their Season Openers
The Packers vs. Seahawks betting line was coming in at Seattle -6. This line has alternated between -5.5 and -6 throughout the month of August. BetOnline opened this number at -3.5 back in April. Action is balanced on both sides.
This game kicks off the highly anticipated 2014 NFL betting season. One can get the Seahawks at a price of -260 to win Straight Up, meaning a $26 bet wins $10 with the $26 refunded. A money line wager like this does make sense in this situation being that Super Bowl champs have gone on to win their season openers 18 out of the last 20 times. It makes all the more sense as the Sagarin Ratings have Seattle only able to win by 5 points. In fact, the last time these two teams met in 2012, Green Bay only lost by 2 points at Seattle in a controversial game where many believed the Packers were robbed of the win.

The Packers do come into this game having won only one of their last six games Against The Spread on the road.
There is every reason to believe Green Bay can cover a 6-point spread playing in Seattle this year compared to last. The Packers signed on veteran defensive end Julius Peppers for starters and players are mostly all healthy, including starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Seattle, on the other hand, has been mired in some offseason distractions. They have also lost three stud defensive linemen: Chris Clemons, Red Bryant and Clinton McDonald.
As if the offense weren’t good enough last season, Seattle does get back Percy Harvin to make them even more potent.
