Two teams in the Pac-12 to watch this week are that of Washington State and Stanford. Both programs have some serious upside, if they can manage to show signs of cohesion against one another. There is a lot to prove on both sides of the football, which is why this game is so intriguing.

The thing here for the Washington State team is that they are looking for that big win. If they can somehow pull it together and drop out the Stanford team here they will surely show up in the top 25, they just have to. The teams played a good game last year, and will most likely continue to do so this time. The Cardinal will be interesting to watch, especially if they are able to keep up their disciplined play. If they let up though, the Cougars have enough to push them aside and get back into the national spotlight.

Current line: Stanford – 10 / Over & Under at 48

Time:  Saturday, September 28, 10:00 pm (EST) ESPN, Watchespn.com

The thing that is going to make this one a bit lopsided, if they in fact Stanford remains as disciplined as ever, is the fact that the team has a great deal of seniors and juniors. That experience alone is going to push them ahead, most likely. The Cougars really want that upset, but their ability to be perfect on the football is going to come into question. They just haven’t showed that sort of prowess just yet, so we’ll have to see whether or not they can pull one out.

The Match Up:

Washington State has improved a bit since their first outing, but they don’t have the ground game that will lead them to a lopsided victory. Their defense however is solid, with a lot of potential in this game. They have been impressive in several instances, holding teams down when they should have ran right over this Palouse team. This kind of success on defense is going to definitely carry them to a good game against the Cardinal, but will it be enough? We’re going to say no, there’s just too much upside on Stanford taking this one and making it hurt. We’re going with -10 Stanford on this one.

The Edge:

Stanford – 10

SportsCashSystem.com Prediction: Stanford – 10
