Why Bet the Rockies vs. Reds: Over is 12-4-2 in Last 18, Cozart on Fire
Those of you who would like to bet the Rockies vs. Reds game Monday will want to consider the OVER with a total set at 9. The OVER has gone 12-4-2 in this series with 24 runs scored in the last meeting.
Jordan Lyles (0-1, 11.25) helps support the argument for the OVER here.
Lyles was tagged for five runs on six hits in 4.2 innings Wednesday against the visiting Giants. He struck out a single player while walking two. Needless-to-say, Lyles doesn’t have a whole lot of fantasy appeal nor will gamblers be apt to back the Rockies when he is starting for obvious reasons.
It doesn’t help matters that the Reds Zach Cozart has been explosive of late with 12 hits in 25 at bats during the month of April. Making matters worse, at least for Lyles and the Rockies, Cozart is 6-for-11 at bats against Lyles with 8 RBIs and one home run.
The Rockies are 2-10 in Lyles' last 12 road starts.
Cincinnati starts Dan Straily (0-0, 3.24), who has three hits and three runs over 8.1 innings in the last eight days. Alfredo Simon was initially slated to start but has been pushed back a day. The total on this game was not expected to change.
The Reds (6-6) have allowed 20 home runs, tied for the second-most, including 10 in their last three contests.
Once again, we will be all over the OVER 9 in this one.
