NFL Power Rankings

Carrie Stroup here! Gambling911.com has released its 2008 Week 6 NFL Power Rankings along with odds for each of the top teams and changes from last week courtesy of Sportsbook.com, which was offering future betting odds on which team will win the 2009 Super Bowl. The number in (parentheses) is last week's ranking.

1. (1) New York Giants - What a value at +600 odds to win the 2009 Super Bowl for a payout potential of $600 for every $100 bet. This 4-0 undefeated team faces the 1-3 Cleveland Browns Monday night and should go 5-0 barring an upset by Cleveland.

2. (4) Tennessee Titans - Who would have thunk it? The Titans start the season 5-0 and they remain undefeated through this weekend anyway thanks to a bye. Fox Sports points out that Jeff Fisher's crew is building something special, and already has a 2 1/2 game lead in the AFC South. They pay $800 for every $100 bet to win the 2009 Super Bowl this week. Betting jump on this one quick before the odds get slashed further.

3. (3) Washington Redskins - The team that jumped 10 in our rankings last week settles in at number 3 following yet another impressive win, this time in Philadelphia. Great value paying $1200 for every $100 bet to win the 2009 Super Bowl.

4. (2) Dallas Cowboys - They won last weekend but Fox Sports makes a good point as Dallas continues to slide every so slowly down the rankings: "Don't kid yourselves, Dallas fans. That was a brutal win against Cincy. Minus that fluky touchdown at the end, and Carson Palmer would have had the ball with a chance to pull off the upset in the final drive." Still one of the favorites to win the 2009 Super Bowl with the best paying odds yet at +500 for a $500 payout on every $100 bet.

5. (9) Carolina Panthers - This team is looking like they can go deep into the playoffs. The payout for a 2009 Super Bowl win would be $1500 for every $100 bet at Sportsbook.com. Very possible!

6. (8) Pittsburgh Steelers - The Steelers have been holding their own this season despite injuries. They were listed with odds of +1500 to win the 2009 Super Bowl.

7. (5) Buffalo Bills - They have looked vulnerable in recent weeks even with the 4-1 record. Oddsmakers don't see this Bills team going to far into the Playoffs. They have them listed with +2500 odds to win the 2009 Super Bowl at Sportsbook.com.

8. (15) Chicago Bears - This Bears team has begun to move back up the rankings. Their two losses were close one's keep in mind. This team is really starting to click. From Fox Sports: "Don't look now, but the Bears offense may (gulp) be catching up with their defense. Chicago has scored 24 or more in four of its five games, thanks to a steadier hand at both QB and RB. Kyle Orton seems to get better each week, while Matt Forte is a scary dual threat already who ranks fourth in the NFL in totals yards from scrimmage." Odds to win the 2009 Super Bowl were set at +2000.

9. (10) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Move up one notch despite a loss last week. At 3-2, they have had one of the toughest schedules and are looking good. Pay $4000 for every $100 bet to win the 2009 Super Bowl.

10. (11) New England Patriots - It seemed like the odds makers had given up on the Patriots chances to win another Super Bowl very early on in the season, yet they remain among the favorites at +1200 odds.

11. (13) Denver Broncos

12. (6) San Diego Chargers

13. (12) Indianapolis Colts

14. (14) Baltimore Ravens

15. (7) Philadelphia Eagles

16. (25) Miami Dolphins

17. (16) Jacksonville Jaguars

18. (19) New York Jets

19. (21) Arizona Cardinals

20. (24) Atlanta Falcons

21. (18) Green Bay Packers

22. (20) Minnesota Vikings

23. (17) New Orleans Saints

24. (22) San Francisco 49ers

25. (23) Seattle Seahawks

26. (27) Cleveland Browns

27. (28) Houston Rockets

28. (29) Cincinnati Bengals

29. (26) Oakland Raiders
