What follows is a list of the best favorite lines and best dog lines for the upcoming 2009 Bowl games as we were heading into the New Year.

Clemson vs. Nebraska - The best line here for the away favorite was Clemson -1 ½ at Bookmaker.com.   Nebraska was the home underdog with a line up to +2 ½ at betED.com.  Of course savvy sports bettors might want to bet both sides of this game and hope Clemson wins by 2 points.  This is definitely an even enough matchup to expect a close game.

Michigan State vs. Georgia - We've seen the line range from Georgia -7 ½ at a few online sportsbooks including Sportingbet.com (which does not take US customers). Sportsinteraction.com had a line of Michigan State +8 ½ and they do take US customers.

Virginia Tech vs. Cincinnati - The line on this game ranged from Cincinnati -1 ½ at Bookmaker.com to Virginia Tech +2 ½ at Sportingbet.com.  It is a shame that US citizens cannot bet at Sportingbet though.

Penn State vs. USC (Southern California) had a line of USC -9 across the board at all Gambling911.com endorsed sportsbooks.

Utah vs. Alabama had a line of -9 to -9 ½ across the board favoring Alabama but betED.com was offering Utah up at +10.

Buffalo vs. Connecticut in the International Bowl we have seen a line of anywhere from Connecticut -4 ½ to Buffalo +6.  This game goes off on Saturday so there could be even further line fluctuations.

The Ohio State vs. Texas line was either Texas -8 or -8 ½ depending on where you looked.

Ball State vs. Tulsa had a line of Ball State -1 to -2 and was likely to move further by kickoff Tuesday as more bets rolled in.

The BCS Championship game had Florida as the -3 away favorite everywhere except for betED.com, where Oklahoma fans will be happy to know the line was still at +3 ½ last time we checked.

Jon Rahm Surges at PGA Championship

Jon Rahm was going for his third major win at the 107th PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. He played great, proving he’s ready to be a top golfer again. After some ups and downs since joining LIV Golf in late 2023, Rahm shot an impressive 4-under 67 in the third round on Saturday. This strong round put him tied for fifth place, just five shots behind the leader, Scottie Scheffler.
