A look at the 2009 Super Bowl betting lines for Thursday show that around 30 percent of online sportsbooks have moved the number to Steelers -6 ½.  This is a sharp contrast to Wednesday when only around 10 percent of online sportsbooks offered the -6 ½ Super Bowl betting line.

In Las Vegas,  the Hilton continued to offer up a line of -6 ½ on Pittsburgh as well.

The half point difference from the -7 offered at most online sportsbooks and in Vegas can mean the world.  With a -6 ½ line, a Pittburgh touchdown win pays gamblers while the 7 point line would result in a "push" (nobody gets paid).

2009 Super Bowl lines monitored by Gambling911.com showed the following:

BetUS.com - Steelers -6 ½

Bookmaker.com - Steelers -6 1/2

Pinnacle Sports (non US customers only) Steelers - Steelers -6 ½

betED.com - Steelers -7

BetJamaica - Steelers -7
Sportsbook.com - Steelers -7

WSEX - Steelers -7

Belmont - Steelers -7

William Hill (non US) - Steelers -7

"So the trend appears to be a move down a half point to -6 ½," commented Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.

At press time Thursday afternoon, the gambling public was on the Arizona Cardinals slightly more than the Steelers at 55/45 action, however, approximately 85 percent of the money line action was on the Cardinals (Arizona to win outright and paying $200 for every $100 bet).
